Quick facts:
- “Maitre de Chai” translates to “keeper of the cellar,” or “cellar master”–the person responsible for the development and aging of the wine, and thus, the winery itself.
- Both Alex and Marty came to winemaking from a culinary background: they met while working as chefs at Cyrus in Sonoma.
- Their Zinfandel comes from the famous Stampede Vineyard, planted in the 1940s. The vines are head-trained, own-rooted, and dry-farmed.
