About
From a young age, Alessandro Viola was fascinated by his father’s vocation as a grape grower. He taught himself what he could about growing, then left for university to obtain a formal education in oenology. The science of wine inspired him there, and he went on to cut his teeth with some prominent winemakers in both Piedmont and on Etna. His broad experience over many years informed his belief that nothing needs to be added or taken away from a wine as long as the grapes, soil, and winemaking are in balance. He started producing wine under his own label in order to put this philosophy into practice, with a strict commitment to growing and championing the local varieties of the region of Alcamo.
