Andrew,
Yes--more photos of frustration, wine angst and the agonizing heartache of the last bottle of Pommard that you have been saving that turns out to be horribly corked. Make sure that everybody knows--wine not just for pleasure, wine all about suffering! :-)
2010--if it's not the Vintage of the Century, I'm not interested. Send it all back. But I'm going to make the call--2010: Vintage of the Mother-Flippin' Millennium. Mark my words.

Matt,

Maybe I should start blogging while filling orders at midnight in the chill of the warehouse, just to prove that it's not pate, pacalet, and premier cru all the time!

I saw the chambers email too and loved it. So what are your thoughts on 2010?

Andrew Greene
One of the ones left behind...

Sounds like a fantastic trip so far. It is great to see all of the photographs from your visits--Jeff told us about your revamped website yesterday and it is a great improvement. However, you do nothing to disprove the popular notion that people in the wine business do nothing but hang out with rock-star winemakers and drink great wine all day. If you keep perpetuating this myth, nobody will ever listen to us whine about all the petty stuff we like to complain about!
By the way, the best e-mail subject line I've received this month came to me yesterday, courtesy of Chambers Street Wines: "Beaujolais 2009--Best Vintage Since 2008!" I will do them one better and make an even more groundbreaking proclaimation: 2009--Vintage of the Year!
